Ocean’s Song by Aaron Mrowka
A song I created and integrated into a video I made about the Gulf Coast Oil Spill.

I know this may not be the most opportune fragment of time to unwind my mind, but it’s been slowly adding tension and soon I’d be willing to bet that another time around that spool and you’ll get a SNAP
as the elastic comes apart losing its fortitude, I don’t ever want to look at you like that again. I’ve been making strides to shake that—don’t want it ever to come back again. I want you to know that sitting down and talking over a cup of tea is most-definitely relevant because time is moving on. Because already I’m the oldest age I’ve ever imagined myself to be
Your feelings mean that much to me. So much so, that late at night when I should be sleeping, my mind’s hamster is running nonstop on a wheel, and coating the circumference of that caged circular contraption are words. Words that hold on tight to reality; tied to strings that dangle from the mouth of a balloon just struggling to reach the sky.
I want you know that it is at this very moment. A moment in which I seemingly am the man I’ve always hoped to be. A man of understanding and forgiveness. It is in this very fragment of time in which I wish to hear you say you love me and in return I long to wrap my arms around your shoulders, look into your eyes and tell you, I’ve only ever wanted to make you proud.
